Anniversary Cruise. . .

BEWARE THERE ARE LOTS OF PICTURES AND IT IS A VERY LONG ENTRY!! :)

Our Room!!!
Well, we had a fun week on our cruise. We took the Diamond Princess through Princess cruise lines and went from Los Angeles, San Diego, Santa Barbara, San Francisco, Astoria, Victoria, and finally Vancouver. My mom and my sister joined us on our cruise. I will try and give you an overview of our cruise. :)

This ship had some of the nicest rooms we have ever had. We had an inside cabin and it actually felt roomy all up until you get to the shower. ;) Here is a picture of our room and yes there were lots of mirrors which helped make it feel larger.

After we settled into our room we went to dinner. Here are a few pictures from our first night at dinner. (The last one has our waiter in it, his name is Mr. Wi)

Well, the next day we went to San Diego, Ca. The only thing I really wanted to do was go to Coronado and go to Miguel's Restaurant and so we went. :) We took the San Diego Trolley Tour, which took us where we wanted to go and told us a large portion of San Diego's history. And might I add that Miguel's was VERY YUMMY!! After Miguel's we walked around Coronado for a while and looked at the hotel there. Here are a few pictures from San Diego. :)

Monday May 7th, our anniversary, we were in port in Santa Barbara, Ca. We had to "tender" in which means the ship drops its anchor off shore and you get on little water taxi's and go to shore. :) Thankfully the tide wasn't too bad so the rides were nice. It was quite warm in Santa Barbara just like it was in San Diego. We decided to talk the city electric tram to the other end of downtown and we ended up walking back. We got mom to walk about 2.5miles that day. :) Here are some pictures from the day. :) They also decorated our door, there's also a picture of that. :)
Sorry I can't flip it. :(

Waiting for our number to be called to go to our "water taxi."

The Diamond Princess docked in Santa Barbara, Ca.
The lovely line to get back on the ship.

Our first formal night. :)
Our tablemates John & Evelynn from Vancouver, Canada.

Tuesday May 8th we docked in San Francisco and we got up early enough to watch the ship go under the Golden Gate Bridge. :) We did a lot of walking again today as we walked from the port all the way to Ghirardelli Chocolate where my mom didn't find what she was looking for so we walked back. We also went to Pier 39 where the shops and sea lions are. We got lots of pictures of the sea lions and video of their barking. :) We walked past Fisherman's Wharf and all the smelly fish. :) I think that is the extent of San Fran.

Wednesday May 9th was a day at sea as we made our way to Astoria, Oregon. We did a lot of playing Canasta and watching movies as the swells on the ocean were 12-18ft high. :) My mom was freaking out, it was actually quite humorous to me. :)

Then Thursday May 10th we got to Astoria, Oregon. Now if any of you are fans you will know that is where the Goonies was filmed and so Bryan and I decided to go and find it. :) We walked and walked and walked and walked!! We finally found the Goonies house and talked to the lady that currently lives there and she was really nice. She has an incredible view from her hill in Astoria. :) Then we walked back to the bus stop to take us back to the ship. We ended up walking about 2.5+ miles.

Happy Birthday Evelynn!!!

Friday May 11th we were in Victoria, Canada which was really really really pretty. I don't think that we got any pictures that do the island the justice its due. I never realized that the island was soooo big, it is 300 miles long by 80 miles wide. We went on a city tour which also included going to high tea at the Empress Hotel. It was neat to go to high tea and the hotel was really pretty. Once we were done there we went back to the ship and played more canasta. This is our last night on the ships before we go through customs on Saturday morning.

Every night mom had to go look out this one particular window after dinner. :)

Saturday after we FINALLY got off the ship and out of customs we rented a silver PT Cruiser and drove around Vancouver which I was not so thrilled with considering their road laws are different and I was EXHAUSTED!!!! We went to Granville Island and just generally drove around. We got bored so we finally gave up and just ended up going to the airport. But here are a few of the pictures from Vancouver.

All the buses were electric and on cables, slightly interesting, the buses couldn't just go where ever they wanted.

Looks like you had fun! Sorry I haven't commented in forever! My blogroller wouldn't add you for a long time, and I would only remember to check your blog whenever you commented on mine! I will maybe try blogroller again, but I am thinking of switching to something completely different, since blogroller never seems to stay updated any more these days:( Thanks for the birthday wishes, by the way:) I PROMISE I will measure that bag as soon as me make our move! It's all packed up (currently being used to store the kids' hats and mittens)and ready for the move! Ok, it's waaaaay past my bedtime. Later!
