Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk. . .

Back in November I posted about a friend who is trying to raise money for Breast Cancer research. Well, she still has a ways to go in raising funds, so any help is appreciated, if you feel led to contribute. I have put a link to my old post and I am also going to post a letter that Becky wrote to friends and family. :)

This year, I'll be participating in a very special event called the Breast Cancer 3-Day.

I'll walk 60 miles over the course of three days with thousands of other women and men. The net proceeds will support breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment through Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the National Philanthropic Trust Breast Cancer Fund.

I've agreed to raise at least $2,200 in donations. I've set my personal goal at $5,000. So I need your help. Would you please consider making a donation? As you may know, the BRCA2 gene mutation runs in my family and breast cancer has taken my mother's life, her cousin's life and their grandma's life. My aunt was diagnosed this past summer and is currently undergoing treatment. But the fact is, even without a family history of it, breast cancer affects 1 in 8. I heard today that 28 women are diagnosed every hour! It is a situation that feels helpless, but this event is a way I can help and it is a way you can help, too.

According to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, approximately 200,000 American women will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year, and nearly 40,000 will die from the disease. That's why I'm walking so far. To do something bold about breast cancer. I hope that you'll share this incredible adventure with me - by supporting me in my fundraising efforts.
