Vacation 2009. . .

Well, since 2008 when our beloved friends Jacob and Paula moved New York we have been wanting to go visit them. :) So when we found out last fall that they were expecting a baby we of course had to make plans to go see them!! :) I am sooo glad we did! We enjoyed spending time with them and their new little daughter!! I won't lie I LOVED it in New York and would love to move there. Life is just more peaceful, slower, and just in general more beautiful!! (as you will see in the pictures below! :)
So our adventure started VERY early on May 27th! My mom took us to the airport and we thought we had plenty of time but apparently first thing in the morning is EVERYONE's ideal time to fly. We made it through security with about 5 minutes till we got on the plane. I can say it was nice not to have to wait around for forever but the thought of missing our plane was not pleasing either! We had a pretty uneventful flight to Cleveland, Ohio until we landed. Once we were on the ground there was a storm coming through therefore the ground crew were not aloud on the runway, so we sat in the plane on the tarmack for roughly 30 minutes!! In the meantime they really didn't hold our flight for us to connect to Buffalo so we missed our flight! They booked on the next flight which was on a propeler plane and FOUR hours later!! They expected me to fly on a PROPELER plane in monsoon type weather!! Are they NUTS?!?!?! Bryan wasn't thrilled with the idea either so we decided since it was only a 2.5-3 hour drive we would just rent a car. :) The lady was very nice and gave us Toyota Prius so it only cost us $15 in gas to go about 250 miles! :) We ended up finally getting to Jacob and Paula's and it was so nice to not have to think about flying for an entire week!! :)
The rest of our trip was pretty uneventful. We did have to go exchange our car the next morning and that's about it for that day! Somewhere in the week we also did go to a couple of the GOREGOUS state parks!! In fact even though we didn't visit that one Jacob and Paula live just down the street from one. :) On Saturday they had a BBQ and their friends from church and work came over to meet their daughter and just have fun!! :) Also during the week I got to cook and if you know me that is one thing I LOVE to do and I got to share my love with Paula and showed her how to make a few different things!! :) We got to also visit their church where I fell in love with the new Chris Tomlin song, I Will Rise! ;) After church we went to Niagara Falls on the American side and that was cool. We didn't do much else but hang out and just relax which was just what I needed!! :)
I was very sad however when we had to say goodbye! We left early on, June 4th, Thursday morning to go to the airport and Jacob was already at work so we got to say bye to Paula and the baby!! I almost cried (which if you know me is HUGE!!) but I held it back!! Boy do we miss them but we really enjoyed spending time there with them.

So, here are a few pictures to enjoy from our trip! :)

What beautiful pictures! Sounds like such a wonderful, relaxing vacation. I've never been to up-state New York...it sounds like something I need to add to my "to-do" list!
